{"id":6475,"date":"2010-01-23T03:00:37","date_gmt":"2010-01-23T01:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ph.yhb.org.il\/en\/?p=6475"},"modified":"2018-05-24T12:14:00","modified_gmt":"2018-05-24T09:14:00","slug":"02-23-03","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ph.yhb.org.il\/en\/02-23-03\/","title":{"rendered":"03 &#8211; A Person Who Is in a Hurry \u2013 When to Exit and What to Skip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The recital of <i>Tehillah L\u2019David<\/i> (<i>Ashrei<\/i>) and <i>Kedushah d\u2019Sidra<\/i> is more important than saying <i>Tachanun<\/i>, for the <i>Chachamim<\/i> laud the person who recites <i>Tehillah L\u2019David<\/i> three times daily, declaring that he has a place in the World to Come (<i>Berachot<\/i> 4b). About <i>Kedushah d\u2019Sidra<\/i>, <i>Chazal<\/i> say that it is one of the things in whose merit the world exists after the destruction of the Temple (<i>Sotah<\/i> 49a), whereas the recital of <i>Tachanun<\/i> is voluntary (<i>Tur<\/i> 131, in the name of <i>Rav Natrunai Gaon<\/i>). Therefore it is better that an individual praying on his own, who does not have time to complete everything, recites <i>Tehillah L\u2019David<\/i> and <i>Kedushah d\u2019Sidra<\/i> (<i>Yechaveh Da\u2019at<\/i> 2:8).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the virtue in reciting <i>Tehillah L\u2019David<\/i> and <i>Kedushah d\u2019Sidra<\/i>, whose basis is derived from the Talmud, is preferable to the recital of <i>Shir Shel Yom<\/i> (the Psalm of the Day), <i>Pitum<\/i> <i>HaKetoret <\/i>(the passage of the incense), and <i>Aleinu L\u2019Shabe\u2019ach<\/i>, which were customarily recited during the time of the <i>Geonim<\/i> and <i>Rishonim<\/i> (<i>Avnei Yashfeh<\/i> 9:58-60).<\/p>\n<p>One who is praying in a <i>minyan<\/i>, and must leave before the end of the prayer service, should try to stay at least until after <i>Kedushah d\u2019Sidra<\/i>, and even refrain from beginning to remove his <i>tefillin<\/i> before the conclusion of its recital (<i>Shulchan Aruch<\/i> 25:13). When possible, he should leave his <i>tefillin<\/i> on until after <i>Kaddish-Titkabal<\/i> (<i>Mishnah Berurah<\/i> 25:56).
