Con el correr del tiempo la costumbre se adopt\u00f3 como obligatoria y por lo tanto tras cualquier ingesti\u00f3n de alimento o bebida de la categor\u00eda correspondiente se recita \u00abBor\u00e9 Nefashot\u00bb (ver Talmud Babilonio Tratado de <em>Berajot<\/em> 44(B)).<\/p>\n<p>Dado que la bendici\u00f3n inicial era por el placer de la ingesti\u00f3n misma, nuestros sabios establecieron que se recite una bendici\u00f3n especial por cada tipo de alimento, tal que agradezcamos a HaShem por cada uno de modo detallado. Empero la bendici\u00f3n posterior a la ingesti\u00f3n del alimento es por el beneficio general que le redunda al ser humano en virtud de haberlo comido, por lo que redactaron una misma bendici\u00f3n para diferentes tipos de comida. Por ejemplo, quien comi\u00f3 arroz, fruto del \u00e1rbol, fruto de la tierra y carne y adem\u00e1s bebi\u00f3 jugo &#8211; inicialmente deber\u00e1 recitar las bendiciones de \u00abBor\u00e9 Minei Mezonot\u00bb por el arroz, \u00abBor\u00e9 Pri Haetz\u00bb por las frutas, \u00abBor\u00e9 Pri Haadam\u00e1\u00bb por el fruto de la tierra y \u00abShehakol Nihi\u00e1 Bidvar\u00f3\u00bb por la carne y el jugo. Empero tras haber comido &#8211; habr\u00e1 de recitar \u00abBor\u00e9 Nefashot\u00bb por todo lo ingerido, pues esta bendici\u00f3n incluye a todos los tipos de alimento y bebida salvo a los pertenecientes a las siete especies (<em>Shulj\u00e1n Aruj<\/em> 207:1).<\/p>\n<p>En la bendici\u00f3n de \u00abBor\u00e9 Nefashot\u00bb agradecemos y alabamos a HaShem por haber creado una multitud de seres junto con los diferentes tipos de alimentos que les han de permitir completar sus carencias (\u00abjesron\u00e1n\u00bb), de modo tal que puedan subsistir. Adem\u00e1s, HaShem cre\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n alimentos suplementarios que permiten deleitarse y vivificar el alma de todo ser creado (\u00ablehit\u00b4aneg bahem ulehajaiot bahem nefesh kol jai\u00bb), ya que el deleite por el buen sabor de los alimentos le suma vitalidad a la persona al tiempo que enriquece su consciencia y su sentir.<\/p>\n<p>La bendici\u00f3n de \u00abBor\u00e9 Nefashot\u00bb difiere de la de \u00abShehakol Nihi\u00e1 Bidvar\u00f3\u00bb. Esta \u00faltima es una bendici\u00f3n general, y a posteriori exime con su recitado a todos los alimentos ingeridos, por lo que quien ignora cu\u00e1l es la bendici\u00f3n espec\u00edfica que debe ser recitada por un alimento determinado, ya sea \u00abBor\u00e9 Minei Mezonot\u00bb o \u00abShehakol Nihi\u00e1 Bidvar\u00f3\u00bb, puede recitar la segunda.
