Es preceptivo cumplir los preceptos con excelencia, tal como fue dicho \u201cEste es mi D\u2019s y lo voy a embellecer\u201d<\/em>, lo cual fue explicado por los sabios (Tratado de Shabat 133(B)): \u201cEmbell\u00e9cete ante \u00c9l por medio de los preceptos, erige ante \u00c9l una suc\u00e1 bonita, y toma un lulav bonito, un shofar bonito, un tzitzit bonito, un rollo de la Tor\u00e1 bonito y escr\u00edbelo en aras del Cielo con una tinta bonita, por medio de una pluma bonita, de mano de un maestro escriba y envu\u00e9lvelo en una seda bonita\u201d.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, vemos que HaShem acept\u00f3 la ofrenda de Hevel (Abel) quien trajera de las primicias de su reba\u00f1o y de sus gorduras, al tiempo que la de Cain, que hab\u00eda escatimado en esfuerzos y consist\u00eda en frutos simples de la tierra no fue bien recibida (Bereshit-G\u00e9nesis 4:3-5, Ramb\u00e1m Hiljot Isurei Mizbeaj 7:10-11).<\/p>\n

Dijeron nuestros sabios que el mandato de cumplir con excelencia (\u2018hidur\u2019) implica gastar hasta un tercio m\u00e1s del precio inicial del precepto (Tratado de Baba Kama 9(A)). Por ejemplo, si alguien va al mercado y encuentra all\u00ed lulavim a diferentes precios, es preceptivo agregar un tercio al valor del m\u00e1s barato para adquirir uno m\u00e1s bonito. En caso de querer cumplir el precepto con especial excelencia y agregar m\u00e1s de un tercio para adquirir un lulav hermoso, el Santo Bendito \u00c9l le retribuir\u00e1, a condici\u00f3n de que el gasto efectuado no sea a cuentas del cumplimiento de otros preceptos que anteceden al del lulav en su importancia ni a cuentas del pago de deudas o la cobertura de las necesidades de su hogar.<\/p>\n

Si a una persona se le presentan u ofrecen tres opciones: un set de las cuatro especies a sesenta NIS[2]<\/a><\/sup>, otro m\u00e1s bonito a ochenta y un tercero a\u00fan m\u00e1s bonito a cien; el precepto de cumplir con excelencia obliga a la persona a agregar un tercio por sobre el precio m\u00e1s bajo y adquirir el set que cuesta ochenta. En caso de que desee cumplir con una excelencia aun mayor adquiriendo el set de cien NIS – el Santo Bendito \u00c9l le retribuir\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Lo antedicho aplica a una persona com\u00fan, pero en el caso de quien se encuentra en una situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica apretada, para \u00e9l no es preceptivo agregar un tercio (Rab\u00ed Shelom\u00f3 Luria, Maguen Abraham, Mishn\u00e1 Berur\u00e1 656:6). Por otra parte, quien tiene el privilegio de estar en una posici\u00f3n acomodada, corresponde que cumpla con excelencia y agregue m\u00e1s de un tercio, especialmente en el caso de quien suele comprar muebles y prendas de alta gama, para los cuales se muestra dispuesto a pagar varias veces el precio de sus sustitutos est\u00e1ndar. En un caso as\u00ed, debe agregar y cumplir el precepto por lo menos con el mismo grado de excelencia con el que procede en sus menesteres mundanos.<\/p>\n
