Chez certains, il est de coutume que, si les enfants n\u2019ont rien demand\u00e9 apr\u00e8s le retrait du plateau, on continue d\u2019\u00f4ter d\u2019autres ustensiles, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019ils posent une question.<\/p>\n<p>Entre le moment o\u00f9 l\u2019on retire le plateau et celui o\u00f9 l\u2019on r\u00e9cite le <em>Ma nichtana<\/em>, on verse la deuxi\u00e8me coupe, afin que toute la Haggada, y compris les questions qui l\u2019introduisent, se r\u00e9cite sur une coupe de vin. De plus, cela aussi \u00e9veille la curiosit\u00e9 des enfants, car on n\u2019a pas l\u2019habitude, chaque jour, de servir deux verres avant le repas.<\/p>\n<p>Il est toutefois pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable de ne pas verser tout de suite leur deuxi\u00e8me coupe aux petits enfants, car il leur est difficile de veiller, durant la longue lecture de la Haggada, \u00e0 ce que le vin ne se renverse pas. Si du vin se renversait sur la table, cela contrarierait les convives, et l\u2019honneur d\u00fb \u00e0 la f\u00eate s\u2019en trouverait atteint\u00a0; car on doit honorer la f\u00eate, notamment, par une nappe propre et une table bien dress\u00e9e. Il vaut donc mieux leur servir cette deuxi\u00e8me coupe peu avant la fin de la lecture de la Haggada, pr\u00e8s du moment o\u00f9 l\u2019on devra la boire.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s que l\u2019on a vers\u00e9 la deuxi\u00e8me coupe, les enfants r\u00e9citent le <em>Ma nichtana<\/em>. Puis on fait revenir le plateau, afin de r\u00e9citer la Haggada tandis que les matsot et le maror sont plac\u00e9es devant soi. On commence \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux enfants par le r\u00e9cit de la sortie d\u2019Egypte. Nous l\u2019avons vu (au chap. 15), l\u2019orientation g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la soir\u00e9e du s\u00e9der tient dans la mitsva du r\u00e9cit de la sortie d\u2019Egypte\u00a0; or cette mitsva consiste principalement dans le fait de raconter ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements aux enfants. Cependant, m\u00eame lorsqu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019enfants, c\u2019est une mitsva de la Torah que de raconter la sortie d\u2019Egypte (chap. 15 \u00a7 1). C\u2019est aussi une mitsva que d\u2019ouvrir ce r\u00e9cit par une question (15 \u00a7 3-4), et l\u2019on doit donner \u00e0 chaque enfant les explications correspondant \u00e0 sa capacit\u00e9 de compr\u00e9hension (15 \u00a7 5). De m\u00eame, nous l\u2019avons vu, la Haggada est ainsi con\u00e7ue que le r\u00e9cit commence par la mention de l\u2019opprobre qui fut la n\u00f4tre, et s\u2019ach\u00e8ve par notre \u00e9loge (15 \u00a7 7). Nous avons \u00e9galement vu que le propos de la soir\u00e9e pascale est d\u2019enseigner aux enfants, \u00e0 partir du r\u00e9cit de la sortie d\u2019Egypte, le r\u00f4le du peuple juif dans le monde\u00a0: s\u2019attacher \u00e0 Dieu, accomplir ses mitsvot, vivre dans le pays que l\u2019Eternel a promis \u00e0 nos anc\u00eatres et \u00e0 nous-m\u00eames, faire conna\u00eetre aux peuples la louange de Dieu, et m\u00e9riter la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction et les bienfaits divins (15 \u00a7 6).<\/p>\n<p>Afin que nous soyons pr\u00e9cis dans le r\u00e9cit de la sortie d\u2019Egypte, et que nous n\u2019en laissions de c\u00f4t\u00e9 aucun d\u00e9tail, les sages ont fix\u00e9 un texte complet, le texte de la Haggada. Quiconque ajoute au r\u00e9cit de la sortie d\u2019Egypte, apr\u00e8s l\u2019ach\u00e8vement du s\u00e9der, est digne d\u2019\u00e9loge\u00a0; mais pendant la lecture de la Haggada, il faut prendre garde de trop s\u2019\u00e9tendre, et de fatiguer les convives et les enfants. Il suffit en effet de r\u00e9citer le texte rituel pour accomplir la mitsva de mani\u00e8re parfaite<sup><a href='#_te01ftn16_m' id='_te01ftnref16_m' class='aup1'>[m]<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<div>\n<a href='#_te01ftnref16_m' id='_te01ftn16_m'>[m]<\/a>.
