Quand il a termin\u00e9 de dire cette b\u00e9n\u00e9diction, il d\u00e9pose la matsa inf\u00e9rieure, afin que ne restent entre ses mains que la sup\u00e9rieure, enti\u00e8re, et la m\u00e9diane, rompue, laquelle repr\u00e9sente le <em>l\u00e9\u2019hem \u2018oni<\/em>, \u00ab\u00a0pain de pauvret\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. Il dit alors la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction <em>Baroukh Ata\u2026 acher qidechanou bemitsvotav v\u00e9tsivanou \u2018al akhilat matsa<\/em> (\u00ab\u00a0B\u00e9ni sois-Tu\u2026 qui nous as sanctifi\u00e9s par tes commandements et nous as ordonn\u00e9 de manger la matsa\u00a0\u00bb). Il prend alors un <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>de la matsa sup\u00e9rieure (celle qui est enti\u00e8re), et un <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>de la matsa m\u00e9diane, et les mange ensemble.<\/p>\n<p>Quand on a de nombreux invit\u00e9s, il est bon d\u2019ajouter \u00e0 la matsa inf\u00e9rieure d\u2019autres matsot encore, afin que l\u2019on puisse en distribuer \u00e0 tous les convives. Quand on n\u2019aura plus de morceaux de la matsa m\u00e9diane (celle qui \u00e9tait bris\u00e9e) \u00e0 distribuer, il n\u2019est plus n\u00e9cessaire de donner <em>deux kaza\u00eft<\/em> aux convives restants\u00a0; un <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>suffira. En effet, c\u2019est seulement lorsqu\u2019on distribue des fragments de la matsa interm\u00e9diaire que l\u2019on doit donner \u00e0 la fois un <em>kaza\u00eft<\/em> de la matsa enti\u00e8re, et un <em>kaza\u00eft<\/em> de la matsa rompue\u00a0; quand, en revanche, la matsa rompue est termin\u00e9e, on distribue un seul <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>\u00e0 chacun. Simplement, comme nous l\u2019avons vu, afin d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9galement quitte selon l\u2019opinion du <em>Noda\u2019 Biyehouda<\/em> \u2013 selon lequel les \u0153ufs, de nos jours, sont plus petits qu\u2019autrefois \u2013, il est bon de donner tout de m\u00eame \u00e0 chacun un volume de matsa \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 deux tiers de matsa faite m\u00e9caniquement\u00a0; et peu importe de pr\u00e9lever ce volume \u00e0 partir d\u2019une seule matsa, ou de l\u2019association de deux matsot.<\/p>\n<p>Il est bon que le ma\u00eetre de c\u00e9ans (le <em>\u2018orekh ha-s\u00e9der<\/em>) mange d\u2019abord un peu de matsa, afin qu\u2019il n\u2019y ait pas de discontinuit\u00e9 entre la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction et la consommation\u00a0; puis il distribue la matsa \u00e0 tous. Quand il aura termin\u00e9 la distribution, il s\u2019accoudera et mangera la mesure de deux <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>au titre de la mitsva.<\/p>\n<p>Suivant la coutume s\u00e9farade, le chef de famille trempe la matsa dans le sel avant de la distribuer aux convives, comme il le fait du pain tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Suivant la coutume ashk\u00e9naze, on ne trempe pas la matsa dans le sel, de fa\u00e7on qu\u2019elle apparaisse davantage comme un pain pauvre (<em>Choul\u2019han \u2018Aroukh<\/em> 475, 1).<\/p>\n<p>Certains ont l\u2019usage de placer trois matsot devant chaque convive, de fa\u00e7on que chacun puisse prendre, pour soi-m\u00eame, un <em>kaza\u00eft <\/em>de la matsa sup\u00e9rieure et un <em>kaza\u00eft<\/em> de la matsa rompue. Ainsi, le ma\u00eetre de c\u00e9ans et les convives n\u2019ont pas besoin d\u2019attendre, entre la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction et le moment de manger, le temps qu\u2019on leur donne de la matsa. Mais plus nombreuses sont les familles o\u00f9 le ma\u00eetre de c\u00e9ans distribue \u00e0 chacun, car il y a un certain <em>hidour<\/em> (un embellissement de la mitsva) \u00e0 ce que tout le monde mange ensemble la matsa sur laquelle le ma\u00eetre de c\u00e9ans a prononc\u00e9 la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction. D\u2019autres encore ont coutume, s\u2019il se trouve plusieurs chefs de famille parmi les convives, de placer trois matsot devant chacun d\u2019entre eux\u00a0: ainsi, chaque chef de famille distribuera la matsa aux membres de sa famille. Bien que toutes les coutumes soient bonnes, il est pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable que chaque chef de famille distribue la matsa aux membres de sa famille.<\/p>\n<p>On mange la matsa accoud\u00e9, avec l\u2019intention d\u2019accomplir la mitsva toranique de consommation de la matsa.
