L\u2019une est une mitsva \u00ab\u00a0positive\u00a0\u00bb (obligation de faire, <em>mitsvat \u2018ass\u00e9<\/em>), l\u2019autre une mitsva \u00ab\u00a0n\u00e9gative\u00a0\u00bb (obligation de ne pas faire, <em>mitsvat lo ta\u2019ass\u00e9<\/em>). La mitsva de <em>chamor<\/em> a pour objet de s\u2019abstenir de tout travail\u00a0; en effet, pendant les six jours de l\u2019action, il revient \u00e0 l\u2019homme de se pr\u00e9occuper de ses besoins et de la construction du monde, tandis que le jour du Chabbat, nous avons ordre de cesser tout travail. Par cela, un espace libre se cr\u00e9e dans l\u2019esprit, espace qu\u2019il nous est prescrit de remplir du contenu positif de la mitsva <em>zakhor<\/em>, dont l\u2019objet est de se souvenir de la saintet\u00e9 du Chabbat et de nous relier aux fondements de la foi (cf. <em>Sifra, Be\u2019houqota\u00ef<\/em> 1, 3).<\/p>\n<p>Ces deux\u00a0mitsvot sont li\u00e9es l\u2019une \u00e0 l\u2019autre, au point que, \u00e0 leur racine, elles s\u2019unifient\u00a0; ce n\u2019est que lorsqu\u2019elles sont descendues en ce monde qu\u2019elles se sont ramifi\u00e9es en deux mitsvot distinctes, qui se compl\u00e8tent l\u2019une l\u2019autre. C\u2019est \u00e0 ce propos que nos ma\u00eetres disent\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<em>Zakhor<\/em> et <em>chamor<\/em> furent dits en une seule parole, ce qu\u2019aucune bouche humaine ne peut prononcer, ni aucune oreille humaine ne peut entendre\u00a0\u00bb (<em>Chevou\u2019ot<\/em> 20b). C\u2019est pourquoi, dans les Dix Commandements tels qu\u2019ils apparaissent au livre de l\u2019Exode, section <em>Yitro<\/em>, il est dit\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Souviens-toi du jour de Chabbat pour le sanctifier\u00a0\u00bb (Ex 20, 7), tandis que, dans la version des Dix Commandements apparaissant dans le Deut\u00e9ronome, section <em>Vaet\u2019hanan<\/em>, il est dit\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Garde le jour du Chabbat pour le sanctifier\u00a0\u00bb (Dt 5, 11).<\/p>\n<p>La mitsva de <em>zakhor<\/em> est un commandement \u00ab\u00a0positif\u00a0\u00bb, qui s\u2019enracine dans la mesure de bont\u00e9 et d\u2019amour. Face \u00e0 elle, la mitsva de <em>chamor<\/em> est un commandement \u00ab\u00a0n\u00e9gatif\u00a0\u00bb, qui s\u2019enracine dans la mesure de rigueur, qui place l\u2019homme \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de limites afin qu\u2019il s\u2019\u00e9loigne du mal<sup><a href='#_te01ftn1_5' id='_te01ftnref1_5' class='aup1'>[5]<\/a><\/sup>. Les mitsvot \u00ab\u00a0positives\u00a0\u00bb participent d\u2019un degr\u00e9 spirituel plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 car, par leur biais, on se relie davantage \u00e0 Dieu. Toutefois, de fa\u00e7on corr\u00e9lative, la sanction de celui qui transgresse un interdit (mitsva \u00ab\u00a0n\u00e9gative\u00a0\u00bb) est plus grave, car celui-ci cause un dommage plus profond, \u00e0 lui-m\u00eame et au monde (Nah\u2019manide sur Ex 20, 7).<\/p>\n<p>La mitsva de <em>zakhor <\/em>est davantage li\u00e9e \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation du monde et au premier Chabbat qui la suivit (appel\u00e9 <em>Chabbat B\u00e9r\u00e9chit<\/em>, le Chabbat du commencement), comme il est dit\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Souviens-toi<\/strong> du jour de Chabbat pour le sanctifier\u2026 car en six jours, l\u2019Eternel fit les cieux et la terre, la mer et tous ce qu\u2019ils renferment, et Il se reposa le septi\u00e8me jour\u00a0; c\u2019est pourquoi l\u2019Eternel b\u00e9nit le jour du Chabbat et le sanctifia\u00a0\u00bb (Ex 20, 7-10). Tandis que la mitsva de <em>chamor <\/em>se rapporte davantage \u00e0 la sortie d\u2019Egypte, comme il est dit\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Garde <\/strong>le jour de Chabbat pour le sanctifier\u2026 car tu fus esclave en terre d\u2019Egypte, et l\u2019Eternel ton Dieu te fit sortir de l\u00e0, d\u2019une main forte et d\u2019un bras \u00e9tendu\u00a0; c\u2019est pourquoi l\u2019Eternel ton Dieu t\u2019a ordonn\u00e9 d\u2019observer le jour du Chabbat\u00a0\u00bb (Dt 5, 14). Le principe spirituel supr\u00eame \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 pos\u00e9 d\u00e8s le commencement, depuis la Cr\u00e9ation du monde, mais ce n\u2019est qu\u2019apr\u00e8s que le peuple d\u2019Isra\u00ebl fut pass\u00e9 par le creuset de fer de la servitude \u00e9gyptienne que celui-ci put comprendre \u00e0 quel point l\u2019asservissement \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re est chose redoutable, et \u00e0 quel point il est n\u00e9cessaire de cesser tout travail pour int\u00e9grer l\u2019id\u00e9e du spirituel.<\/p>\n<p>Il est fait allusion \u00e0 ces deux commandements, <em>zakhor<\/em> et <em>chamor<\/em>, dans le mot m\u00eame de <em>Chabbat<\/em>. La signification simple du mot \u2013 abstention de tout travail \u2013 correspond \u00e0 l\u2019injonction <em>chamor<\/em>, \u00ab\u00a0garde\u00a0\u00bb. Le th\u00e8me <em>zakhor<\/em> se rapporte, quant \u00e0 lui, \u00e0 la signification plus int\u00e9rieure du mot <em>Chabbat<\/em>\u00a0: retour (<em>t\u00e9chouva<\/em>), puisque, le jour de Chabbat, nous retournons aux fondements de la foi.<\/p>\n<div>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<div>\n<a href='#_te01ftnref1_5' id='_te01ftn1_5'>[5]<\/a>.
