En effet, dans la Torah, il est dit \u00e0 Mo\u00efse\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Tu leur diras\u00a0\u00bb (Nb 6, 23), c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire que Mo\u00efse, qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas Cohen, devait ordonner aux Cohanim de b\u00e9nir Isra\u00ebl. De ce passage, nos sages apprennent qu\u2019il faut pr\u00e9alablement interpeler les pr\u00eatres (en annon\u00e7ant\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Cohanim\u00a0! \u00bb), et c\u2019est seulement ensuite que ceux-ci commencent leur b\u00e9n\u00e9diction. Mais si ce n\u2019est qu\u2019un seul Cohen qui monte \u00e0 l\u2019estrade, on n\u2019annonce pas \u00ab\u00a0Cohanim\u00a0! \u00bb, puisqu\u2019il est dit dans la Torah\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Tu <em>leur <\/em>diras\u00a0\u00bb, ce qui laisse entendre que c\u2019est seulement s\u2019il se trouve au moins deux Cohanim que l\u2019on fait cette annonce (<em>Choul\u2019han \u2018Aroukh<\/em> 128, 10). Certains apprennent de l\u00e0 que la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction sacerdotale se trouve r\u00e9alis\u00e9e dans sa pleine acception lorsqu\u2019au moins deux Cohanim sont pr\u00e9sents (Rabb\u00e9nou P\u00e9rets cit\u00e9 par le <em>Tour<\/em> 128\u00a0; cf. <em>\u2018Aroukh Hachoul\u2019han<\/em> 128, 9).<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame en ce qui concerne la <em>Birkat Cohanim<\/em> en soi, les Cohanim ne la r\u00e9citent pas de leur propre chef\u00a0: c\u2019est l\u2019officiant qui la leur \u00e9nonce mot \u00e0 mot, les Cohanim r\u00e9p\u00e9tant chaque mot apr\u00e8s lui. Certains officiants se trompent et \u00e9noncent les mots de la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction \u00e0 voix basse\u00a0; ce n\u2019est pas un usage correct\u00a0: il faut au contraire que la voix de l\u2019officiant se fasse nettement entendre des Cohanim, tout en restant l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus faible que la leur (cf. <em>Tsits Eli\u00e9zer<\/em> 14, 17\u00a0; <em>Nessiat Kapa\u00efm Kehilkhata<\/em> 12, 3). Apr\u00e8s chaque verset, l\u2019assembl\u00e9e r\u00e9pond <em>amen<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons vu au paragraphe 1 que \u00ab\u00a0de l\u2019\u00e9veil d\u2019en bas d\u00e9pend l\u2019\u00e9veil d\u2019en haut\u00a0\u00bb. En d\u2019autres termes, lorsque le Saint b\u00e9ni soit-Il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le monde, il a \u00e9tabli que le libre-arbitre constituerait un principe central. Aussi, ce n\u2019est qu\u2019une fois que nous avons \u00e9vertu\u00e9 notre volont\u00e9, ici-bas, \u00e0 obtenir un r\u00e9sultat positif d\u00e9termin\u00e9, que s\u2019\u00e9veille, en regard, la volont\u00e9 d\u2019en haut de nous porter assistance afin que nous obtenions ce r\u00e9sultat. Aussi est-il n\u00e9cessaire que l\u2019un des Isra\u00e9lites faisant l\u2019objet de la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction proclame\u00a0en premier lieu : \u00ab\u00a0Cohanim\u00a0! \u00bb. En cela, il exprime par sa bouche la volont\u00e9 du peuple de recevoir la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction de Dieu, et seulement alors les Cohanim commencent leur b\u00e9n\u00e9diction.
