Il est vrai que, m\u00eame lorsqu\u2019un seul Juif prie ou \u00e9tudie, la Pr\u00e9sence divine r\u00e9side aupr\u00e8s de lui\u00a0; mais il y a en cela diff\u00e9rents degr\u00e9s, et le degr\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieur est atteint lorsque dix Juifs se livrent ensemble \u00e0 une occupation sainte, car alors la saintet\u00e9 se r\u00e9v\u00e8le dans le monde (cf. <em>Berakhot<\/em> 6a). D\u2019apr\u00e8s ce principe, nos sages ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 qu\u2019un quorum de dix personnes (<em>minyan<\/em>) serait requis pour toutes les pri\u00e8res et b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions ayant pour objet de sanctifier le nom de Dieu (<em>devarim ch\u00e9biqdoucha<\/em> <sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-1' id='fnref-469-1' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>1<\/a><\/sup>). Parmi ces paroles empreintes d\u2019une saintet\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re, on trouve la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition de la \u2018Amida par l\u2019officiant, la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction des pr\u00eatres (<em>Birkat cohanim<\/em>) <sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-2' id='fnref-469-2' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>2<\/a><\/sup>, <em>Barekhou<\/em> <sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-3' id='fnref-469-3' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>3<\/a><\/sup>, le Qaddich et la <em>Qriat ha-Torah<\/em>, lecture du rouleau de la Torah (<em>M\u00e9guila<\/em> 23b) <sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-4' id='fnref-469-4' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>4<\/a><\/sup> Or les sages enseignent que le mot <em>assembl\u00e9e<\/em>, \u05e2\u05d3\u05d4\u00a0, vise lui-m\u00eame une assembl\u00e9e de dix Juifs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Les lois de la sanctification du nom divin s\u2019apprennent pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment de ce verset (\u00ab\u00a0Je serai sanctifi\u00e9 parmi les fils d\u2019Isra\u00ebl\u00a0\u00bb)\u00a0: si des ennemis obligent un Juif \u00e0 profaner le nom divin par une transgression publique, le Juif doit pr\u00e9f\u00e9rer faire le sacrifice de sa vie, \u00e0 condition que se trouvent pr\u00e9sents dix Juifs. Si en revanche moins de dix Juifs sont pr\u00e9sents, il ne doit pas faire le sacrifice de sa personne [le verset\u00a0peut donc se lire : \u00ab\u00a0<em>Je serai sanctifi\u00e9<\/em> \u2013 jusqu\u2019au sacrifice ultime afin d\u2019\u00e9viter une profanation de Mon nom \u2013 <em>parmi l\u2019assembl\u00e9e d\u2019Isra\u00ebl<\/em> \u2013 \u00e0 condition que dix Juifs soient pr\u00e9sents\u00a0\u00bb]. Cependant, en ce qui concerne l\u2019institution du minyan pour la r\u00e9citation des textes empreints d\u2019une saintet\u00e9 sp\u00e9ciale (<em>devarim ch\u00e9biqdoucha<\/em>), le Ran \u00e9crit, et avec lui d\u2019autres Richonim et A\u2019haronim, qu\u2019il s\u2019agit l\u00e0 d\u2019une r\u00e8gle rabbinique. En effet, le fait m\u00eame de dire ces textes n\u2019est qu\u2019une obligation rabbinique. Aussi, en cas de doute sur des r\u00e8gles r\u00e9gissant le minyan, la loi sera conforme \u00e0 l\u2019opinion indulgente, conform\u00e9ment au principe\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0En cas de doute sur la fa\u00e7on de statuer en mati\u00e8re d\u2019obligation rabbinique, on sera indulgent\u00a0\u00bb (<em>sfeqa derabbanan leqoula<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019auteur du <em>Mabit<\/em>, dans son ouvrage <em>Beit Eloqim<\/em>, explique que, depuis l\u2019\u00e9poque de Mo\u00efse notre ma\u00eetre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la destruction du Temple, la Pr\u00e9sence divine se r\u00e9v\u00e9lait au lieu o\u00f9 \u00e9taient apport\u00e9s les sacrifices, et la proph\u00e9tie r\u00e9gnait en Isra\u00ebl. D\u00e8s lors, la pri\u00e8re individuelle \u00e9tait agr\u00e9\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s la destruction du Premier Temple, les membres de la Grande Assembl\u00e9e ont institu\u00e9 la pri\u00e8re collective, afin que la Pr\u00e9sence divine r\u00e9gn\u00e2t parmi les fid\u00e8les et que, par cela, leur pri\u00e8re f\u00fbt exauc\u00e9e. Cf. <em>Yabia\u2019 Omer<\/em> VI, 10, 5.].<\/p>\n<p>Nos ma\u00eetres enseignent que la pri\u00e8re dite au sein de la communaut\u00e9 est agr\u00e9\u00e9e, comme il est dit\u00a0(Ps 55, 19)\u00a0: \u00ab Il a d\u00e9livr\u00e9 paisiblement mon \u00e2me de toute bataille, car nombreux \u00e9taient en ma pr\u00e9sence\u00a0\u00bb<sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-469-5' id='fnref-469-5' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(469)'>5<\/a><\/sup>. Quand bien m\u00eame les fid\u00e8les ne se concentreraient pas tellement dans leur pri\u00e8re, le Saint b\u00e9ni soit-Il ne d\u00e9daignerait pas la pri\u00e8re d\u2019une communaut\u00e9 (<em>Berakhot<\/em> 8a). Certes, toute partie de la pri\u00e8re dite en minyan est, en soi, empreinte d\u2019un plus haut degr\u00e9 d\u2019importance et se voit agr\u00e9\u00e9e\u00a0; mais l\u2019essentiel de l\u2019obligation de prier en communaut\u00e9 consiste dans le fait de r\u00e9citer au sein d\u2019un minyan la pri\u00e8re des dix-huit b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions, la \u2018Amida (ou <em>Chemon\u00e9-Esr\u00e9<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Il se trouve donc que le minyan pr\u00e9sente deux avantages\u00a0: le premier est que, en son sein, on peut dire toutes les<em> paroles ayant trait \u00e0 la saintet\u00e9<\/em> (<em>Qaddich<\/em>, <em>Barekhou<\/em>, <em>Q\u00e9doucha<\/em>, <em>Birkat Cohanim<\/em>\u2026) que nos sages ont r\u00e9serv\u00e9es \u00e0 la pri\u00e8re communautaire\u00a0; le second est que, par l\u2019effet du minyan, la pri\u00e8re est agr\u00e9\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Du fait que, par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire du minyan, la Pr\u00e9sence divine r\u00e9side sur l\u2019assembl\u00e9e, il convient\u00a0 que chacun s\u2019efforce de figurer parmi les dix premiers arriv\u00e9s, car c\u2019est par leur biais que r\u00e9side la Pr\u00e9sence divine. Si l\u2019on ne peut arriver parmi les dix premiers pour l\u2019office du matin, on s\u2019efforcera d\u2019\u00eatre parmi les dix premiers pour l\u2019office de Min\u2019ha ou d\u2019Arvit <em>(Choul\u2019han \u2018Aroukh<\/em>, <em>Ora\u2019h \u2018Ha\u00efm<\/em> 90, 14\u00a0; <em>Ben Ich \u2018Ha\u00ef<\/em>, <em>Miqets <\/em>1).<\/p>\n<div class='footnotes' id='footnotes-469'>\n<div class='footnotedivider'><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li id='fn-469-1'>Au singulier, <em>davar ch\u00e9biqdoucha\u00a0<\/em>: \u00ab\u00a0parole relevant de la saintet\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb.
