S\u2019il faut tremper le pain dans le sel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jadis, on avait l\u2019usage de cuire des pains sans sel, et c\u2019est au moment du repas que l\u2019on assaisonnait le pain de sel, de salade cuite, ou de quelque autre mets. Par cons\u00e9quent, nos sages ont enseign\u00e9 que, apr\u00e8s la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction <em>Hamotsi<\/em>, il convient de manger le pain de la mani\u00e8re la plus savoureuse (<em>m\u00e9chouba\u2018h<\/em>), ce par quoi l\u2019on intensifie la louange qu\u2019exprime la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction\u00a0; aussi a-t-on pris l\u2019usage de relever de sel, ou de quelque autre aliment, le pain consomm\u00e9 \u00e0 la suite de la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction. Mais ceux qui pr\u00e9f\u00e9raient manger le pain sec, tel qu\u2019il se pr\u00e9sentait, sans sel ni autre compl\u00e9ment, n\u2019avaient nul besoin de tremper leur pain dans le sel.<\/p>\n<p>De nos jours, les pains sont cuits avec du sel et des \u00e9pices, si bien que notre pain est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme savoureux\u00a0; si l\u2019on s\u2019en tient \u00e0 la stricte obligation, on peut donc prononcer la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction sur lui, tel quel, sans le relever d\u2019un peu de sel ou de salade cuite (<em>Choul\u2018han \u2018Aroukh<\/em> 167, 5). Malgr\u00e9 cela, nombreux sont ceux qui ont coutume d\u2019ajouter \u00e0 leur pratique un suppl\u00e9ment de perfection, en trempant le pain dans le sel ou dans de la salade cuite, afin que la consommation qui suit imm\u00e9diatement la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction soit aussi savoureuse que possible.<\/p>\n<p>Il existe un autre embellissement de la mitsva (<em>hidour<\/em>), consistant \u00e0 placer du sel sur la table pour le repas \u2013 comme cela \u00e9tait prescrit au Temple afin d\u2019ajouter du sel aux sacrifices, ainsi qu\u2019il est dit\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Sur chacun de tes sacrifices, tu apporteras du sel.\u00a0\u00bb (Lv 2, 13) Par cela, on fera allusion au fait que la table ressemble \u00e0 l\u2019autel, et la nourriture \u00e0 un sacrifice, car elle donne force \u00e0 l\u2019homme pour servir l\u2019\u00c9ternel (Rema 167, 5).<\/p>\n<p>Certains fondent sur la Cabale leur coutume de tremper le pain dans le sel (<em>Maguen Avraham<\/em> 167, 15, <em>Michna Beroura<\/em> 33). La raison \u00e0 cela est que le pain fait allusion \u00e0 l\u2019attribut de bienfaisance (<em>\u2018hessed<\/em>), par laquelle l\u2019homme est nourri et subsiste, tandis que le sel, cors\u00e9, fait allusion \u00e0 la mesure de stricte justice, qui, lorsque le pouvoir lui est donn\u00e9, a pour effet la destruction du monde. Or lorsqu\u2019on trempe le pain dans le sel, on adoucit le sel en le rendant accessoire au pain, car alors il s\u2019associe \u00e0 la bienfaisance nourrici\u00e8re que le pain repr\u00e9sente\u00a0; alors, au lieu de nuire, il est utile.
